De = equivalent antenna diameter, and
A = wavelength (same units as De, computed from 8400
MHz as reference frequency)
b. EIRP Spectral Density (ESD). For all terminals, ESD in the GSO plane shall not exceed the following:
ESD(0) = 2.351 - 25 log10 0 (dBWIHz) for 2.0° 0 < 3.8°
ESD(0) = -13.0 (dBWIHz) for 0 = 3.8°
ESD(0) = 1.49 - 25 log10 0 (dBWIHz) for 3.8° <0 < 5.0° ESD(0) = -3.97 - 25 log10 0 (dBWIHz) for 5.0° 0 < 6.94° ESD(0) = -25.0 (dBWIHz) for 6.94° 0 12.42°
ESD(0) =2.35 - 25 log10 0 (dBWIHz) for 12.42° <0 < 48.0°
ESD(0) = -39.65 (dBWIHz) for 48° 0 180°
where symbols are defined above.
The ESD requirement shall be met while incorporating transmit RMS pointing errors. The figure 3 below illustrates the mask defined by the above parameters:
